Harry even qualifies as a Valentine's Day gift!
Brandon thought he would surprise me with an unusual gift for Valentine's Day. He figured that getting the last two books to complete our Harry Potter collection would be a winner. He was right! Although I love getting flowers, I think $20 was better spent on 2 books that will not die in a few days, but will be read over and over again.
I never thought I would be a Harry Potter fan. My freshman year of college, I went on a terrible date to the late night premiere of the 1st movie. When I say late, I mean about 1 a.m. ish. Not to mention standing in line for hours with a bunch of weirdoes dressed up like wizards talking about H.P. trivia. (note: I had never heard of Harry Potter before, but now I would find that exciting). Then I sat through a 2&1/2 hr. movie with a lame date who tried to put the moves on me while I was trying not to fall asleep and I told him bluntly, "I don't think that's a good idea." Needless to say, I did not enjoy my first experience with Harry. But I have grown to love him. I started to read the books this last summer starting with number 4, then 5, then 6, then 3, then 2, then 4 again just to refresh before the movie released, then 5 again & I am currently working on 6. Weird order huh? I have yet to read #1. But now I can with my new Valentine's copy. Yea! ......I know..... I'm pathetic, but I don't care, I love reading them. They are the only books that have held my attention so well. With most books, I start reading and then put it down and never pick it back up. Not Harry Potter! It is kind of embarrassing to admit, but I think these are the biggest books I've ever read. (See photo) Books 2-6 total 3,032 pages, plus I read 4&5 twice and will soon finish 6, which are over 700 pages each. Don't you think that is quite an accomplishment? My mom would probably say, "Please tell me you read more than that in college!" Yeah, yeah, I'm sure I did cumulatively, but it was definitely not as enjoyable. But she can't judge Harry since I think she caught the bug this Christmas while visiting us. Haha!
So, Happy Valentine's Day! I hope your gift was as cool as mine. If not, you can borrow mine... mmmaybe :)

Harry is a great gift. I myself was a fan when the books were brand new. My mom got the first one and, over christmas break, said "here, read this and see if it's good." I did and when i returned to school, promptly bought the next two. Good stuff! Sometimes i get in total HP moods and need to read them. Good job, Brandon.
