Jack and the Deanstalk A few months ago Dean and my dad decided to start our garden with some sunflower seeds.

I figured we would dig them up once we got our garden started, but they are like part of the family now. Dean and Dalila started giving them hugs when they got as tall as the kids. This pic of Dean hugging the sunflower was on my birthday in April.
We had a few rainstorms and suddenly they grew another 4 feet in a month. Now they were taller than the house.

And another month went by and the tallest is 14ft now and full of flowers.
My dad couldn't believe how tall they got, he says he's never seen sunflowers that tall before.

The kids like to hide behind the huge leaves like they are in a forest. This one just exploded with flowers while the others just have one huge flower. The biggest one my dad said looked like a dinner plate. My aunt Laura says these sunflowers grew so big because Dean and Dalila loved them.

I love sunflowers-as a kid we always did them with our dad and you don't have to wait long-those are huge!
